South Eastern Welsh Springer Spaniel Club Open Show

I would like to thank the committee for their hospitality and for giving me this opportunity. It was a pleasure to judge this well organised show. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and thanks also goes my efficient stewards and to the exhibitors for a good entry.

DOGS
Veteran (6,2a)	1^st	Wren’s - Saanu Copper Beech at Gwynmarren JW ShCM Nice outline good head and neck, tight feet, well boned, short coupled, correct tail set. Moved well
	2^nd	Cemis’s - Sh Ch Taimeres Turnabout for Collinsmoore JW Nice dog slightly longer than 1, with good head and long neck, round feet, strong quarters. Movement ok just a little loose in front.
	3rd	Tubb’s - Parkmist Master Dancer for Alsutu

Puppy (2,0a)	1st	Allen’s - Pacey Acer 11 month old, nice head, lovely feet, good neck into well laid shoulders, in good coat and condition, moved well. BP
	2nd	Reeves’s - Catjack Commodore for Rheincroft Well boned with good feet, well laid shoulders, didn’t move as well as 1.
Junior (4,1a)	1st	Steadman’s - Stedigan One In Ten Good head, straight front with tight feet. Good spring of ribs, short coupled, strong quarters, his movement won him the class holding his topline with a ever wagging tail.
	2nd	Buckwell’s - Killena Iceman Nice dog slightly bigger than 1 but a lot to like, good bone and feet, well sprung ribs, well angulated quarters, moved ok.
	3rd	Craig’s - Mr Charlie Boy
Sp. Yearling (4,0a)	1st	Tew’s - Pamicks Dazzling Boy JW Strong masculine dog, well boned, nice dark eye, straight front, Long neck into slopping shoulder, deep chest with good spring of ribs, strong quarters, moved steady holding his topline

	3rd	Gill’s - Brenros Take Me Right Round
Novice (3,1a)	1st	Wright’s - Amblelight Alioth Nice outline, good head, bone and feet. Long neck, straight front. Moved ok.
	2nd	Allen’s - Goldsprings Forever Wicked Slightly smaller than 1. With a nice head short coupled, tight feet. Moved ok.
Graduate(2,2a)	1st	Steadman’s - Stedigan One in Ten – Winner of Junior
	2nd	Summers - Hillrobin Hamblet Lovely dog, Good head with kind expression, long neck into well laid shoulders, strong quarters with good bend of stifle. Was playing up a bit with owner on the move which unfortunately spoilt his movement and outline.
Post Graduate (5,5a)	1st	Carr’s - Gemill Prince of Theives This dog excels in head with kind expression, Round tight feet, long neck into sloping shoulders would like slightly more upper arm. Straight front and well angulated hind quarters, in good coat and condition, moved well.
	2nd	Masson’s - Peakdale Iestyn Ap Dafydd Manmoel A dog I have placed high before and has matured nicely, Long neck good shoulder placement, straight front, short coupled, good quarters and well let down hocks. Moved ok.
	3rd	Summers - Hillrobin Hamblet
Limit (5,1a)	1st	Davis’s - Julita Ranger ShCM I liked this dog as he came in. Compact well balanced dog with a lovely head and kind expression, round tight feet, long neck into sloping shoulders, deep brisket with well sprung ribs, strong hindquarters with good bend of stifle. Correct tail set. Moved well and was pleased to award him RBD
	2nd	White’s - Fiergen Break Dancer Stronger in head than 1, good feet and neck, deep chest, shorter in upper arm than 1. Moved ok
	3rd	Smith’s - Amblelight Mercury
Open (3,0a)	1st	Morgan & Roberts’s - Sh Ch Cwrtafon Cadfor This dog is all welsh a masculine dog but nowhere overdone, pleasing head correct ear placement, excellent neck into sloping shoulders, good bone, straight front, deep chest and well sprung ribs. Strong quarters with deep second thigh and good bend of stifle. Moved well driving from behind holding his topline. BD, RBIS/BOS
	2nd	Masson’s - Coedybrain Geraint of Manmoel Another typical welsh, well balanced, short coupled, good head, muscular neck, plenty of bone and a straight front, deep chest with well sprung ribs. Moved well holding his topline.

Veteran (6,1a)	1st	Tully’s - Ch Highclare Energizer This dog hasn’t lost her style. She went round the ring like she owned it. Good head with dark eye, long neck into well placed shoulders, well angulated quarters, good stifle and well let down hocks. Correct topline.
	2nd	Janes’s - Coedybrain Eirianne Nice outline with good feet, straight front. Nice head with kind expression. Good ribs and well angulated quarters. Moved ok.

Junior (9,3a)	1st	Thomas’s - Bowdonia Sweet Dreams This bitch took my eye straight away. I loved everything about her from her nose to the end of her lively tail. The standard says symmetrical, compact, not leggy. This bitch is all that and more. She has a beautiful head with lovely dark eye. Good neck into well placed shoulders, straight front on excellent feet. Deep second thigh and well let down hocks. Moved well driving from behind showing her strong quarters. In excellent coat and condition. I was pleased to present her with BB & BIS
	2nd	Jones’s - Pennylock Sioned at Trosley Compact bitch with straight front and tight feet. Good quarters. Move ok but gave handler a rough time.
	3rd	Luckett-Roynon’s - Solva Octavia
Sp. Yearling (6,4a)	1st	Abbott & Cemis’s - Norlington Nectar JW Sweet head with dark eye, Long muscular neck into sloping shoulders. Correct topline and tail set. Good ribs and hind angulation with deep second thigh. Moved well.
	2nd	Charles’s - Menstonia Iolanthe of Stagarth Slightly bigger than 1. Good head and neck, straight front with tight feet. Moved ok
Novice (5,1a)	1st	Luckett-Roynon’s - Solva Octavia Nice bitch, with sweet head, straight front and tight feet, deep brisket and good ribs. Moved well when settled.
	2nd	Caldwell’s - Cerysan Pocahontas Long neck, straight front with good feet. Well angulated hind quarters. Moved steady.
	3rd	Ordish’s - Goldsprings Forever True
Graduate (4,1a)	1st	Masson’s - Pennylock Rhian of Manmoel Compact short coupled bitch with a sweet head and dark eye. Long muscular neck into well laid shoulders. Strong hind quarters which she used round the ring holding her topline.
	2nd	Woodward’s - Bowdonia Chasing Dreams 4^th in a good junior class. Larger than 1 with straight front and good feet, long neck. Moved ok.
	3rd	Young’s - Amblelight Red Orchid
Post Graduate (4,0a)	1st	Thomas’s - Sherdrew In Your Dreams with Bowdonia A close call between 1 & 2. Nice balanced bitch with a sweet head and dark eye but would like a more defined stop. Long muscular neck. Tight feet with well boned straight front. Good angulation for and aft. Strong quarters. Moved well.
	2nd	Morgan & Roberts’s - Cwrt Afon Hafina Another nice bitch, Good head with kind expression. Long neck, feet ok, strong quarters with deep second thigh, good bend of stifle. Moved ok.
	3rd	Barkley’s - Cherryheath’s Miss Chief JW
Limit (6,1a)	1st	Janes’s - Coedybrain Nelli – A bitch I have placed before she is every bit a welsh. Nice head correct ear placement. Long neck into well laid shoulders. Deep chest and well sprung ribs. Good hind angulation with deep second thigh. Correct topline and tail set. Moved well once she got going. Carrying a bit too much weight but never the less a well made bitch. RBB
	2nd	Tully’s - Highclare Miss Motivator This bitch scores well in head with a sweet expression, long muscular neck, good front and nice feet. Strong hind quarters with well let down hocks. She lost out on movement today.
	3rd	Luckett-Roynon’s - Solva Zerbinetta
Open (2,0a)	1st	Tew’s - Pamicks Miss Holly Hocks JW ShCM Up to size bitch but nothing overdone about her. She has a good head with dark eye and sweet expression. Long muscular neck into well placed shoulders. Deep chest and well sprung ribs. Strong quarters which she used well to power round the ring. Shown in good coat and condition.
	2nd	Wren’s - Glenbrows Playtime at Gwynmarren Nice bitch, good neck and shoulders, straight front and tight feet. Slightly overweight. Moved well.
