BOURNEMOUTH
CAMPING
This year the rally held at Greenhill Farm on the edge of
the New Forest was a fantastic success, with around 17 units attending,
caravans and tents.
A quick count of the dogs on one day showed that there were 34 Welsh
Springer Spaniels plus a further 4 ‘other breeds’ – quite a crowd!
The 60s themed supper held on the Saturday evening had
more people in attendance than ever before , almost 60 – a large number of
which got into the ‘zone’ and appeared in a weird and wonderful variation of
60s outfits – see the pics on the website. Thanks must be given to all those who
provided so much of the food on the night, particularly Janey Sutherland who
once again ‘cooked up a storm’ providing us with wonderful open apple tarts and
profiteroles – becoming something of a ‘tradition’ now (we hope!).
During the week of the Rally, various activities took
place, including some Gundog Training (courtes y of
Pat Barrett who owns some land alongside the rally field), agility racing, musical
SIT competition(great fun), and dog racing also took
place, croquet was available ‘chez Blackford’, and group walks occurred during
the week thoroughly enjoyed by numerous welshies –
again see the website pics.
The dates for 2012 are 9th – 16th
August 2012 at the same venue, with a planned ‘Olympics’ theme for the supper.
Full details will be available on the website in 2012, but make a note of the
dates now for your holidays.
