It
was a great pleasure to judge at this show and I would like to thank the Club
for their hospitality and for providing excellent stewards and first class
catering. It was one of the most pleasant days that I have spent during my 35
year involvement in dog shows. It is rare to see a breed, where the owners are even
nicer than the dogs. I would also like to thank the photographer for the disc,
with excellent photos of the class winners.
The
standard of the entry was high, with generally really good heads. Well boned
dogs that were fit and sound and looked capable of a day’s work. On the whole
feet were good, which is important in a gundog. Some dogs had rather more hind
angulation, than they did at the shoulder and fore end, which affected overall
balance. Temperaments were excellent with only one or two youngsters a little
apprehensive.
Veteran Dog 3(2) 1 Tubb’s
Parkmist Master Dancer for Alsutu
Well balanced , Exc Head with
good shoulders. Sound and fit 10 yr old. Moved as if he was still a youngster. Slightly loose in

MPD 1(1) 1 Barkley’s Cherryheath’s Mr Mischief. Pleasing head. Good layback of
shoulder and hind angulation. Immature and uncoordinated on the move, will
probably improve as he matures. Moved a little loosely in front and closely
behind and would prefer better top-line on the move.
PD 2 (2) 1 Best Puppy in Show
Thomas’ Bowdonia Rolling Dice Excellent head. At the moment neck is
rather long in proportion to depth of chest but this should look better as he
fills out with maturity. Well set tail but carried a bit high. Sound moving with lots of potential 2 Birse’s
Cormallen
Amazing Tia More balanced than winner with good head but a bit apprehensive.
When over this, he should do well.
