SOUTH EASTERN WELSH SPRINGER SPANIEL CLUB CH. SHOW - 16.10.2011

JUDGES REPORT

BRACE (1,0a)

1st Caldwell’s Cerysan Pocohantas & Cerysan Purely by Chance. A truly delightful matched pair of mother & daughter. Both in excellent condition throughout, they moved in total symmetry. The fact they stood alone made no difference to their obvious quality and justification of the first prize.

 SPECIAL BREEDERS (4,0a)

1st Duncan’s Ir Sh Ch Redfrith Betty Boop, 2 year old bitch in excellent condition and well presented. Correct skull shape with biddable expression and kind eye. Good reach of clean neck leading to well sprung ribcage with plenty of heartroom. Developed bone and musculature throughout. Good strength over loin with correct topline. Well balanced between front and rear assemblies, producing a straight effortless drive on neat feet.

2nd Abbot’s Norlington Nectar JW. 3 year old of good substance and condition. Kind alert expression and eye, although a touch heavy in topskull for me. Moved out well and with straight driving action, powering from well placed hocks and tight feet.

3rd White’s Fiergen Steamy Windows. Immature ten month old but coming along well. Kind eye and expression. Correct dentition. Clean reach of neck leading to ideal depth of ribcage. A touch wide in front for me, but overall a pleasing example.

KENNEL CLUB BREEDERS COMPETITION (1,0a) 1st Duncan’s Team. Well matched and moved out well together. They obviously enjoyed the experience.

DOGS

It was a great privilege to judge dogs at this show and I would like to thank the members who voted for me and the committee for their hospitality, also many thanks to my efficient stewards.

I felt some lacked muscle in hind quarters and narrow hind action and for me some were carrying too much weight. In saying that although type was varied I was more than satisfied with my final line-up

.
