Mid Limit Dog 3,1a,

1st , Hankins Julita Rainmaker at Woodelrond, both dogs in this class need to have hands on to appreciate their virtues. Balanced head without being coarse plenty of work in it. Good leg bone, with excellent thick tight padded feet, Good spring and depth of rib, strong rear quarters, moderate bend of stifle, hard to assess his movement as he was so tense, which was a real pity.

BITCHES

The South Eastern Welsh Springer Spaniel Club held a championship show at Cobham Village Hall where we jointly agreed that BIS went to Sh Ch Heniveruce King Of Brewere for Aprilflash, RBIS and BOS went to the bitch, Sh Ch Bowdonia Truly Scrumptious, BPIS was the dog, Nyliram Born This Way, BVIS was the bitch, Sh Ch Hinxwood Fire And Ice. The referee chose the Best Baby Puppy in Show as the bitch, Gilstonia Maggie May.

A lovely show with a good atmosphere & a big enough ring. Thanks must go to not only the committee who did such a good job setting up & ensuring the smooth running of the show but also the stewards who worked hard all day looking after my fellow judge, Thelma and me.

Baby Puppy 1 Mullin’s Gilstonia Maggie May, what a cutie, she has such a pretty head which was just right for age with a lovely eye of a good colour already, at 5 months she is just right. A lovely type who surprised me by moving so well when she settled, she has so much potential & a good coat coming which was well presented. She is balanced & although alone, she made me smile with your efforts to please. Best Baby Puppy

MP (1) 1 Lockie’s Gwirgariad Shooting Star, 6 months bby who needs time & training but she is well worth all the efforts you are putting into her. This well bred baby has such a pretty head which is just right for age. Just a baby in movement but as she matures & pulls herself together, I am sure it will be fine, has a good coat for her age with a nice topline & well set tail which was well carried. When she settled, in profile shows her true potential, she is a good type.

P (2) 1 Walton, Coffin & Patterson’s Hillpark Twist With Joy, now I can see why she appealed, she is half sister to Shooting Star, this beautiful bitch is a type I have admired for years. Such a pretty head with a kind eye of a good colour & a shape I like for the breed, for 11 months, she moves so well with a lovely head carriage in profile, good topline & tailset with a good neck & shoulders, this quality girl has a good coat put down in lovely condition. BPB; 2 Jackson & Palmer’s Tuttington Ginger Snap at Ardinia, at 11 months she is balanced with a good outline but just having a phantom today which affects her movement & giving her handler a hard time but has so much to like that I hope that she soon settles & enjoys her career. Liked her head proportions & a good eye, well set & carried ears & a good neck, well boned legs & feet.

J (3,1a) 1 McIlwaine & Reynolds’ Ferndel Rebecca for Benoveor, just over a year, this bitch is a good mover on well boned legs & feet, enough coat which was well presented, she needs to settle & finish growing as she has a good neck & shoulder, correct topline & tailset. Still needs more balance in head but a good eye & well set ears, I think she needs time to finish to complete the picture; 2 Doyle’s Helgen Hurrican Dorian, again another half sister by Twister but at present she still needs to learn as she wasn’t happy today, at just over a year she needs to tighten up all through as she sometimes looks too long & her movement needs to improve but she has a good topline & tailset with well boned legs & feet, pretty head & expression with well set ears.

Y (3) 1 Harrison’s Sh Ch Glenbrows Wish JW, wow what a girl, so mature for her age, she is balanced & such a lovely type & quality all through. Good head & expression with a kind eye, excellent neck & shoulders, put down in lovely coat & condition, in hard muscular condition but when she moves she really strides out with purpose, excellent hindquarters which are used to power her round the ring, holding a strong topline & well set tail to cover the ground with ease & purpose. Just couldn’t walk passed her & was thrilled to give her the RCC & to see that she is already a champion & so well deserved; 2 Sutherland’s Jacranella Graceful, slightly longer cast than 1 but still an excellent type, again a pretty head & expression, she was well coated & her presentation was first class, moved so well matching 1 step for step giving me a hard decision. She too is quality & with lots of like, correct neck & shoulders, good depth of chest with a strong loin giving a good topline & a well set tail, a good size & a lovely example of the breed; 3 F Rebecca for B.

M (2,1a,1 w/d)

N (3,1 w/d) 1 Walton, Coffin & Patterson’s Hillpark Carys Gold, slightly lighter red colour but an excellent type, good neck & shoulders, this well coated bitch who was well presented, she ives her moved OK if a bit wide in front on the day. Pretty head & a good eye, she is balanced & quality, put down in hard condition & was the one I think I could work with for her outlook to life, not flashy but a good solid type; 2 Branagh’s Ferndel Water Fall, taller girl who is slightly longer too which affects her overall balance, not so confident as 1 at present but she has a good coat which was well presented, pretty head of a good balance with a kind eye of a good colour & well set & carried ears, good neck & enough shoulders, well boned legs & feet, with a good ribcge & strong loin, correct topline & tailset.

G (3) 1 Buckwell’s Killena One Moment In Time, balanced bitch put down in excellent coat & condition, lovely presentation, she is a good size & so very feminine in outlook, good neck & shoulders, well set & carried tail & the correct topline & depth of ribcage. Pretty head & expression with correct earset & carriage. Moved well on well boned legs & feet; 2 F Water Fall; 3 F Rebecca for B.

PG (1) 1 Lockie’s Benoveor Truly to Gwirgariad, would prefer slightly less length of body for perfection but although alone will still do well for she has a pretty head & expression, good neck & shoulder, correct topline & tailset, in good coat which was presented well, moved ok covering the ground well.

ML (5,3a) 1 Harrison’s Glenbrows Harmony JW, feminine head with well set ears with good width between them, good head proportions with an excellent neck leading into lovely shoulders & forechest, excellent overall balance & a good type, she is quality & she is put down in the best coat & condition, excellent topline & tailset, she showed so well to take the class; 2 Morgan’s Benoveor Endess Love at Rubydown, such a lovely head & expression on this girl, so very feminine in outlook & good body proportions, movement OK but a bit unco-ordinated compared to 1 on the day but she has a good topline & tailset with lovely hindquarters, good legs & feet, lovely presentation & a good type.

L (4) 1 Cooper’ Gilstonia Snow Moon, now I can see the catalogue I can see why she kept calling me back! She is the dam to the baby puppy winners. She is balanced with an excellent head carriage in profile, well made neck & shoulders, she is well presented in a good coat which was well presented, good topline & tailset, she is quality, so very feminine in outlook with such a pretty head with a lovely expression from a good eye & well set ears, very close up to the RCC; 2 Popkin’s Julita Ryveeta JW, pretty head & expression, good neck, shoulders OK but a good type, I am sure Julie would be thrilled to see her progress, she certainly made her proud today with her showmanship & type, put down in excellent coat & condition, moved well to win her place in this lovely class; 3 Blackford’s Amblelight Adhara JW.

O (2) 1 Thomas’ Sh Ch Bowdonia Truly Scrumptious, I knew I had seen her before but I had to wait till I got home to see what I wrote about this cracking bitch. She had taken a 2nd behind my CC winner last time from a young class & said she needed to finish, boy has she finished now! I still love her, she is perfectly balanced to my eye, she is quality all through & put down in such excellent coat & condition, beautiful head & expression with an excellent neck & shoulders, correct ribcage, loin, topline & tailset, excellent head carriage in profile, moved true back & forth, love her type, she is such a pretty bitch with no exaggerations. Pleased to give her the CC & with the dog judge’s agreement, she went RBIS & BOS; 2 Reynolds & McIlwaine’s Benoveor Can’t Buy Me Love, another quality bitch put down in excellent coat & condition, she showed & moved so well, a good type who is very feminine in outlook, good topline & tailset, good ribcage & loin, moved well on well boned legs with good feet, again that head that I was looking for with a good expression & well set & carried ears.

Champion (2) 1 Graham’s Sh Ch Nyliram The Moth Catcher JW, what a class to sort out, only 2 but both from the top drawer. I loved the overall balance & proportions of 1, she is well muscled with a beautiful neck & shoulders, excellent topline of the correct length with a good tail which is well set & carried, well muscled hindquarters & a good ribcage, she is quality but where she comes alive is when she moves, she effortlessly covers the ground with ease & purpose, put down in excellent coat & condition, so very feminine with a balanced head with well set ears; 2 Harrison’s Sh Ch Glenbrows Hope, loved her head & expression with a lovely eye of a good colour, excellent neck & shoulders, good ribcage & loin, put down in excellent coat which was so well presented, excellent hindquarters, in profile movement she kept a good head carriage & really covered the ground with ease & determination. Two excellent champions & it was nit-picking to separate them. I was honoured to have such quality bitches to judge today.

V (7,1) 1 Woodward’s Sh Ch Hinxwood Fire And Ice, an old friend of mine & the same applies, congratulations on winning her third CC, she so deserved it. She is quality & at 7 years old, I have her a RCC in 2018 from novice & again in 2022 & I am sorry today I just fell for the open winner. I don’t change my views of her, today she took BVIS, she is so feminine & balanced, put down in excellent coat & condition, her head is perfection & I am pleased to see her again. Won a strong class on her quality & type; 2 Waller’s Isfryn Lady Godiva at Fireglow, another 7 year old who was close up today, this docked bitch has an excellent topline & tailset, put down in excellent coat & condition, moved so well, so feminine particularly in head & expression, a lovey type with a good neck & shoulders, she beat her litter sister into 3rd; 3 Cooper’s Isfryn Lady Grey of Gilstonia.
