.The format for the session will be for an instructor to run through the various elements of gundog

work and then for each handler and dog to understand and practice these elements both

Individually and as a group.

The day is not designed to train your dog rather to give you a basic “toolkit” and technique. The

elements we will be explaining and practicing condense at least six months work into one session

so handlers should leave with an appreciation of what is required of them and their dogs.

You will require a lead (preferably a rope “slip” type), a whistle, a dummy (or a favourite toy),

a dog and probably a sense of humour!  You should also have warm clothing in case of poor weather as

most gundog work seems to be done in the cold or wet. We will have a supply of dummies and whistles if

you do not have these already.

We hope to make this an informative and fun day and whether you intend to work your dog on a

shoot, enter trials or working tests or just require a more obedient dog there will be something of

use for you on the day.

We are justly proud that the Welsh Springer Spaniel is truly a dual-purpose breed and we hope that

by participating in this day you will be well on the road to ensuring that we keep the working

instincts of our breed alive.

How to get to Ty Llon:

Ty Llon is on the A22 one mile south of East Hoathly.  Coming from the North, turn right immediately before a landrover garage into Park Lane. Within 100 yards turn right again into a small lane marked ‘Private Road RDN’. Ty Llon is approximately half a mile at the end of this lane.
